I love to recycle as many household items as possible for crafts and art projects! It’s good for the environment and I feel it teaches my children to think outside the box. We see a toilet paper tube and think of binnoculars, microphones, castle towers, small gift tubes, molds and much more. I am compiling a list of reusable household items you might want to hold onto. Many of the projects I list on this site will call for some of these items, so if you have room, you might want to start setting some aside. Don’t feel limited to the items listed here, though… if something inspires you, save it and then share your idea with the rest of us!
- Cans (lids are good, but not necessary)
- Egg cartons
- Frosting containers
- Glass jars
- Light bulbs
- Newspaper
- Papertowel tubes
- Plastic table cloth (great for drop cloths!)
- Plastic tubs and lids
- Scrap paper (even printed or written on!)
- Shoe boxes
- Styrofoam ‘meat trays’ (cleaned thoroughly)
- Tissue and wrapping paper
- Toilet paper tubes
- Used crayon pieces
As always, please leave comments with additional ideas or changes you might make!
Thanks! -Jenise
